The Monthly Hustle: May Recap

The Monthly Hustle is my monthly newsletter, where I share updates and discuss things that have happened in the last month.

May was nice. I did something that I've been wanting to do for a while. I'll get to that shortly.

Side Hustles:

Amazon KDP: - No new books at the moment.

Second Website & Facebook Page - Too busy to focus on this at the moment.

Other Facebook pages: The Facebook page I rebranded is sports-related. In my previous newsletter, I asked if I should share it. A few people voted yes. The name is ATL Sports Zone. I added a few pieces of content to it. It's getting some engagement. Like and follow it when you get a chance.

Amazon Influencer Program - I added four more videos to the site. I'm currently at 270.

Reselling: May was slow again. Hopefully, June can be better. I added some new items to eBay, Mercari & Poshmark in late May.

Next, I have an important update.

Student Loan Debt Update

My current student loan debt is $28,710.52

Federal Loans - $ 28,710.52

SoFi Loan - $0

I paid off my last private student loan in May!!!!

$1470.81 gonnnnnneee!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's goooooooooo!!

It feels good to have that loan gone. I'll be saving an extra $200 per month. The loan initially started as a Sallie Mae loan, then transitioned to Navient. I refinanced with Earnest a few years ago and then refinanced again with SoFi in August 2023.

I started this journey on August 18, 2023. I finished it on May 29, 2025.

In just 650 days, I eliminated over $10,200 of debt.

Refinancing my private student loan was one of the best things I did. If you are thinking about refinancing any of your loans, consider SoFi. They were able to give me a great rate and nice payment options.

What's next?

As you can see, I still have $28,000 worth of federal loans to pay. It's currently on forbearance, so I won't be making any payments on it for a couple of months.

I have some credit card debt that I need to eliminate, so I'm going to focus on that and save a little more.

The monthly hustle is my newsletter, where I share updates from the previous month. If you noticed, I missed February. February 2026 was one of the most annoying months ever. Our apartment flooded, and we were displaced for two weeks. That would be tough for anyone, but adding an 8-month-old to the equation made it even more difficult. Thank God that we had renters' insurance. After a week of cleaning and reorganizing, we are pretty much back to normal. I don't typically share a lot of...

Black history isn't just something we look back on; it's something we live, build, and pass forward every day. It's not just Black history, it's American history. This week, I wanted to highlight three pieces that reflect different sides of our story: our history, our money, and our culture. First, we dig into little-known Black history facts that don't always make it into textbooks. These are the stories that remind us how deep our roots really go and how much has been intentionally left out...
